Highlands Summer Bash! Come enjoy our annual Summer Bash on Saturday, Aug 26 at 5:00pm. We’ll be serving hamburgers and hotdogs. You’re welcome to bring a side dish and as many friends and neighbors as you’d like.

Spotlight on Dave Dibble. Dave lives on Cascade Drive here in the Highlands.  He graduated from Murray High School and served a mission in Oklahoma.  Dave attended Salt Lake Community College and the University of Utah.  His career has been in construction and manufacturing, and his hobbies include golf and travel.  He has two children at home: Callum who enjoys Lacross and Anzly who enjoys dance and is a competitive skier. Dave loves living in Mountain Green and believes it’s important to surround yourself with good people because they tend to rub off on you.  He also believes in the values of being honest, humble, and hardworking. We are grateful for the Dibble family!

Welcome New Ward Mission Leader! Rick Roedel has been sustained as our new Ward Mission Leader and Elders Missionary Assistant Secretary. In case you missed it, Rick gave the lesson last Sunday on Christofferson’s talk entitled, “One in Christ.” He discussed how we can become more united in a divided world by genuinely loving those who are different from us. The most important take-away is this: Being one in Christ happens when every man seeks the interest of his neighbor, and doing all things with an eye single to the Glory of God.  “It is only in and through our individual loyalty to and love of Jesus Christ that we can hope to be one: one within, one at home, one in church, eventually one in Zion, and above all, one with the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost.”

The Service Guys. Brother Daryl Boudrero has reorganized his service team. Steve Woody will organize cannery assignments. Dave Jackson will organize Temple cleaning assignments. Kent Wilkerson will organize service projects. If you are in need help, Kent has suggested that you let your Ministering Brothers and your Block Captains know. You can also let Kent know in case there are resources outside your block that might be helpful.  Kent is also collecting a list of those who would like to be a part of a “Special Forces Team” that can help with service projects.  Let Kent know if you’d like to be on the list!
